A very BIG thank you for EVERYONE who supported out Coffee & Cupcake morning this year.  We had a great morning – cakes, tea, a brilliant raffle and auction as well as lovely ladies from Pheonix Cards (Katherine Findlay) and Africa Darling (Helen Steel) selling lovely Christmas gifts.

We raised a huge £1,343!!!!!!!!!!

This makes such a huge difference to Chatterbox and we are all so grateful to everyone who has supported us in 2015.

We have just been given another AMAZING prize for the Silent Auction at the annual Chatterbox Coffee & Cupcake morning (this Friday!!!).

Enjoy delicious Afternoon Tea for 2 people in the luxurious surroundings of The Orangery at Stoke Park Country Club & Spa.  You will be served a selection of handcut sandwiches, cakes and scones with jam and clotted cream, served with your choice of tea or coffee.

Please come and join us for our annual Coffee & Cupcake fundraiser.  We are at the same venue as last year (Burnham Park Hall, Windsor Lane, Burnham, Bucks, SL1 7HR) on Friday 4 December from 10-12.  As well as being able to sample some delicious handmade cakes, we will also have our usual Raffle and Silent Auction, as well as some special stalls this year selling lovely items such as handmade African Christmas Decorations, Handbags and Scarves and Christmas Cards, Wrapping Paper etc. So get some Christmas shopping done and relax with a cake and a coffee. whilst raising funds for Chatterbox at the same time! Opening a new Tesco store!

As a completely independent group, we are always looking for new ways to fundraise or to get out profile raised.  We hold events, fundraisers and challenges throughout the year which help us fund these essential sessions.

Chatterbox was established by a group of parents each who had a child with Downs Syndrome.

Children with Down Syndrome commonly have some sort degree of speech delay, so we formed a Group to address this issue head on and now work across a network of schools in the Maidenhead and Windsor area, providing invaluable, regular, focused speech and language intervention.

We work in partnership with a specialist speech therapy company – Symbol UK Ltd.  Our Therapist takes time to get to know our children, what they find interesting or exciting, what motivates them, (what frustrates them!) and, in collaboration with the Teaching staff, work hard to ensure each child is able to access the National Curriculum as much as possible, aiding specifically in the areas of speech development, phonics, ora-motor skills and exercises which will strengthen the muscles in the mouth (especially the tongue).
